The Global Sourcing Forum + Expo Announces Two Days of Additional Sessions, Free Admission at Its Expo Hall

November 06, 2009 -- BOCA RATON, Fla., BUSINESS WIRE --

The Global Sourcing Forum + Expo, the premier industry event focusing on sourcing, today announced that its renowned Expo will have two days of additional sessions, focusing on sourcing locations, competitive differentiators in the global economy, as well as tips for buyers, sourcing locations and others.

The Expo for the Global Sourcing Forum will open on Wednesday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m. and will run through November 12, offering networking opportunities at the Global Connections Lounge as well as the chance to meet almost 100 exhibitors and representatives from 25 countries and regional showcases for Latin America, Central & Eastern Europe, Far East Asia, and India. Attendees who qualify can attend the Expo for free, by registering by November 10th. An extensive conference covering all of the strategy, foundation, and best practices aspects of driving an effective sourcing plan and featuring world renowned speakers is also available at additional cost.

Among the topics addressed at the Expo sessions will be the large number of emerging sourcing locations, how buyers and suppliers are working more closely together in an increasingly homogeneous global economy, and what qualifications and factors both buyers and suppliers should consider before entering into a relationship.

GSFE Chairman and Global Equations CEO Anupam Govil has addressed the emergence of new locations for sourcing and how these locations can and should differentiate themselves. Mr. Govil's points will appear in an article on Nearshore Americas, a media website dedicated to original and independent reporting on outsourcing in the Americas, that will be published concurrently with the GSFE's opening. Among the factors that Mr. Govil recommends new sourcing locations consider are a long term strategy, similar to what India started developing in the 1980s and which led to its current prosperity; a system of continual creation, re-engineering, and re-modeling of services, using the tech industry as a model; and the importance of finding a niche and defining it.

'The GSFE is a multifaceted show, offering learning sessions, networking opportunities, and a comprehensive showcase that provide the most current, powerful representation of today's global sourcing environment,' said David Etzler, CEO of OutsourceWorld, which sponsors the GSFE. 'We have developed the Expo as a networking and meeting vehicle, in which people can experience world locations, visit with a wide assortment of companies, and get a sense of the current economic and business trends driving our industry. We are pleased to offer free access to the Expo Hall to qualified individuals as this adds to the networking and business continuity aspect of the show, which is designed to be a place of commerce and opportunity as well as learning.'
